Brian Dalton on Rock Attitude

Brian Dalton, who recently released the track “The Follower”, had a little chat with Rock Attitude.
Hello Brian! Congrats for your new video for “The Follower”. Really refreshing sound! How are you?
- Hello! Thank you very much for your time and for your kind words. I’mdoingwell!
Tell us a few words about the recordings of this song. When and where?
– “The Follower” was recorded a while back with my producer Jake Bond and Coty Walker at Top Shelf Audio in Bernie, Missouri, USA.
How can you describe your sound?
- Basically, I write in whatever style I’m feeling at the time but it usually falls within those two genres.
Are there any plans for a full album in the near future?
- There are plans for a full album but probably not until I sign with a label will it be released.
Any plans for live performances?
- Live performances are also on the agenda! Covid definitely brought the live show prepping to a halt for a while but I hope to have it back up and running very soon!
Do you have any other musical projects, or you feel really dedicated about your personal work?
- Right now, I’m just focusing on my own material and until I get this to the level I want, it will probably remain that way.
What do you enjoy most? Recordings or stage and why?
- I can only speak to what I’ve done. Since starting my solo journey, the focus has been creating content and pushing it online. I can tell you that I absolutely love recording. The whole process of creating is like lifting a weight off of my shoulders at its end. However, I cannot wait to be able to give people who are interested the chance to hear the songs live.
What is your opinion about the whole situation in the world today? Are you happy?
- That’s a tough question to answer. I don’t know that anyone is always happy. We’re treading waters that are not only scary but completely foreign to most of us with what seems like very little control over the outcome.
But there’s always hope. And that’s enough for me to keep going. Overall, I’m very grateful for the opportunities I’ve been presented with and try not to take anything for granted, regardless of how I’m feeling. ButI’mdefinitelynotperfect in thatregard.
What are your future plans about the project? Are you going to search for a steady line up or you will follow the idea of a project?
- My plans are to continue the road I’m on the way I am currently: as a solo artist. But when I get to the point of playing live shows I will for sure have some excellent musicians to back me.
Do you believe in God?
- Wow. LOL. Some hard-hitting journalism here. Umm I can say I’m closer than I have ever been, but I’m still searching in that area. For now, I believe in being a good person because it’s the right thing to do. Not for praise, or for reward, or for a ticket into heaven. But because the world deserves kindness.
We might not be able to change the world as a whole but we can damn sure help to change the world for someone.
Are you angry with prejudiced people judging your music?
- I hold no ill will toward anyone who doesn’t like my music. Everyone has a taste and a preference, including me, and I appreciate them giving me a chance. My hope is that it not only finds but helps the ones who want to hear it.
But we really like your work! The last words are yours…
- I appreciate that very much! You lending me your platform for my voice means the world to me and to anyone reading this and/or listening to my music, you have my heart. If you want to check out my links I’ll plug them here! Thanks again!
