Lord Bishop Rocks on Rock Attitude

“We love to record live to get live vibes”
In this interview with Rock Attitude, Lord Bishop looks back on the beginning of his musical journey, the challenges he faced throughout his career, and the energy that continues to drive him on stage. He also talks about touring, the impact of Tear Down the Empire, and his excitement ahead of his upcoming first shows in Greece.
Can you take us back to the beginning of your musical journey? Where did it all start for you?
– Started in 1979 at a KISS CONCERT AT MADISON SQ GARDEN I saw KISS and this made me want to rock and roll forever.
How many years have you been active in music, and what were your earliest steps into the industry like?
– Since 1986, the music business has been and is very racist to black people playing rock music. It was always a fight to get interested or gigs etc. The most famous black rock Living Color is still active, and the press does not say anything, and they are now supporting bands that have done less than they did.
I’m very progressive and in your face, so the white media does not like that I’m that way I say all from my heart.
What are some of the key milestones in your career so far (albums, releases, collaborations, or major projects?
– I think the most recent album, Tear Down the Empire, has put me on a new level and has elevated my worth and value.
Which artists or bands have had the biggest influence on your sound and musical style identity?
– Jimi Hendrix… Black Sabbath… Doors… The Who… James Brown … The Jackson 5 …Kings X… Nat King Cole… Frank Sinatra.
How would you describe your artistic style to someone who has never heard your music before?
– HendrixianMotorfunk mix of Jimi Hendrix, Motorhead, and James Brown.
Where do you usually record your music, and what is your creative or what does the recording process look like?
– I love to record in Budapest. We love to record live to get live vibes.
You’ve been heavily involved in touring – how do you handle such an intense, back-to-back live schedule, physically and mentally?
– I don’t think about it, I run, I collapse, and then I do it all over again, it’s the only way it’s Crazy F*cking life on the road.
What has touring taught you about yourself as an artist and performer?
– New people every day is a new day, you need to find the pulse of the crowd, and if the PULSE is weak, you have to give them a shot of electricity.
Is there a country or audience that has impacted or moved you the most during your travels?
– Yes, Mexico was very emotional to play in Mexico. The love in the hearts of people is so amazing, simply deep and emotional.
You are scheduled to perform in Greece soon – can you share the exact dates and venues for these shows?
– Sep. 23 – Rover, Thessaloniki, Gr
Sep. 24 – Studio 203, Ioannina, Gr
Sep. 25 – Argoriders Harley-Davidson, Volos, Gr
Sep. 26 – Holywood Live Stage, Athens, Gr
What are your expectations or feelings about performing in Greece for the first time?
– Very – very excited I can’t wait to rock for the Greek people, very excited.
Looking ahead, what’s next for LORD BISHOP ROCKS in terms of new music or plans?
– New album, new record label, and new album coming out in APRIL 2028. Will be the best of my life
Is there a message you would like to share with your fans worldwide and especially with your Greek audience?
– There will be no band like mine that the Greek people will even see I’m from another planet and I’m the new KING OF ROCK AND ROLL.
